I own and curate transformative retreat centres in India and France because I am deeply committed to the belief that the spaces we inhabit shape our ability to heal, create and connecte with ourselves. These properties are not just physical spaces but sanctuaries where the spirit can rest, renew and remember. As John O’Donohue beautifully expresses, “The landscape of the world is a mirror of the soul”, and I believe these spaces are reflections of the inner journeys we take to reconnect with our truest selves.
Having lived in India for decades, my journey began as a young “artist”, enchanted by the intersection of craft, art and culture. Over the years, I had the privilege of collaborating with pioneers in design and hospitality and creating businesses like La Maison Rose in Pondicherry. However, the true calling to make theses retreat spaces emerged from my desire to offer a place of alchemy – where the connection between environment and well-being takes centre stage.
These retreat centres are designed with one core intention : to suspend people in Grace, so they return to themselves and remember. They are a space of reflection, healing, and reconnection with what truly matters. Whether in India or France, my retreats offer a chance to enter an environment where nature, beauty and mindfulness converge, creating a sanctuary for transformation.
In addition to retreat work, I bring my sensory intelligence, biophilic design and polyvagal theory expertise into every space I create, including homes and workspaces. My approach to design integrates the pinciples of harmony and well-being, ensuring that each environment serves as a catalyst for healing, productivity. and authentic self-expression.
O’Donohule writes “When we experience the beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming”. The vibrations of beauty, intricately woven into this sacred container, carry an ancient force calling us back to ourselves. It is this force that compels me to offer more than a retreat. I intend to craft an experience that stirs the soul, nourishes the spirit and ignites a profound awakening – a return to the deepest well of inspiration and truth.
This is how we make sense of life—our Sensory Intelligence™ is hardwired into the brainstem, dictating how we perceive and respond to the world before we even think. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) and Thalamus are the brain’s first filters, deciding what matters—what keeps us safe, triggers stress, and fosters clarity. These primal mechanisms operate beneath awareness, yet they control everything from focus to emotional regulation.
Your reality isn’t shaped by what you think—it’s shaped by what you sense, and your brain sorts 80% of it without you even knowing.
Through the Matrix of Sensory intelligence, questionnaire and report, I assess the seven sensory thresholds of individuals and groups, tailoring environments to their unique neurobiology. By curating textures, colors, acoustics and spatial flow, I craft spaces that don’t just look good – They feel right, reducing stress, enhancing self-regulation and unlocking deep cognitive ease.
Sensory Intelligence™ isn’t optional—it’s the unseen force defining your reality every moment.
Though rooted in ancient wisdom, Biophilia was clinically proven in hospitals, where patients surrounded by nature recovered faster. This is no soft science—it is now a fundamental strategy in hospitality and corporate spaces to enhance well-being, focus, and resilience.
Why? Because our brainstem is approximately 500 Million years old, it is where sensory stimuli get sorted! We are still primal creatures, reacting to sensory stimuli based on survival instincts: green means water and water means life. A view means safety—spotting danger before it arrives. Fractal patterns signal growth, abundance, and evolution. These cues are not decorative but embedded in our biology, shaping our emotions, stress levels, and cognitive performance.
Biophilic design is not a luxury. It is a necessity—the invisible force regulating our nervous system, our health, and our ability to thrive.
From the teachings of Elisha Halpin and the Polyvagal Theory developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, I understood the profound interdependence between our nervous system and the environment. Our nervous system doesn’t just respond to the world—it relies on it.
Dr. Porges explains how sensory cues from our surroundings shape our autonomic responses—whether safety or stress—. Environments that promote safety activate the vagus nerve’s calming pathways, allowing us to heal and thrive. In contrast, others trigger stress and anxiety, shaping our emotional and physical state without us even realising it. Our nervous system doesn’t just respond to the world; it depends on it.
Simply put, our nervous system and the environment are in a symbiotic relationship, shaping who we are. Neuro-wise design is about shaping who we want to be by designing our environment and choosing how it impacts us.
